How does Botox reduce sweat?
Botox blocks Acetylcholine, the signal that tells sweat glands to activate. Without the signal, glands don't release sweat — but the glands themselves remain intact, unharmed.
Will the sweat just come out somewhere else?
Compensatory sweating is rare with Botox (unlike surgical sympathectomy). Research supports this — sweat simply decreases where injected.
